The first edition of BenidormHalf ends with great success in its new format

The sunset and rain were privileged witnesses of the 34th edition of the Benidorm Half Marathon and City of Benidorm 10K that took place as dusk fell on 3rd March with excellent participation, at which you, dear runners, were the leading players. So, we want to thank you for making the Benidorm Half an amazing experience.

At 6.30 p.m., Benidorm’s Mayor, Toni Pérez, fired the starting gun of a race that attracted over 2,000 athletes, many from outside the city, and followed an urban route, passing through Levante and Poniente beaches. The runners included the 1995 world champion Martín Fiz.

The General Male category was won by Dutchman Edwin de Vries with a time of 1:08:15, ahead of Andrew Davies (1:08:39) and Jorge Bardisa (1:09:39).
The General Female category was won by Brit Elinor Kirk (1:20:14), followed by her compatriot Lauren Wilson (1:27:08) and Spaniard Sonia Tirado from the Atletismo Benidorm Club in third place (1:32:20).
First place in the 10K was won by Severino Felipe (0:32:17), followed by Hamza Ard Joun Auared (0:33:13) and Arturo Quijada in third place (0:33:26).
First place in the female category was won by Yésica Mas (0:36:30), followed by Ann Selby (0.40:47) and Irene Llario (0:43:19).

Benidorm Half is more than running. Music, lights, sound, commercial village, a spectacular setting, entertainment, performances, tourism… these are the new hallmarks of this race that combines sport and tourism in an enclave as special as Benidorm.
