The Benidorm Half 2026, scheduled for 21 November, has officially opened its registration process. The organisers are launching entries with an initial early-bird period offering special prices for the first race bibs in both the half marathon (21K) and the 10K events. The race has a strong international profile and is included in the national calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).

From Thursday 15 January 2026 at 5:00 pm until Sunday 18 January 2026 at midnight, registration will be open at a special price: €24 for the half marathon and just €19 for the 10K.

What will the next registration periods look like for the upcoming edition of this landmark race in the province of Alicante and the Valencian Community?

Once the initial promotional period has ended, from 19 January to 2 April 2026 the entry fee will be €29 for the 21K and €24 for the 10K.
The next price bracket will run from 3 April to 4 June 2026, with bibs priced at €32 for the half marathon and €26 for the shorter distance.
From 5 June to 1 October, the following registration phase will be in place, with prices set at €35 for the half marathon and €28 for the 10K.
The final registration period, from 2 October 2026 until entries close shortly before race day, will see prices rise to €38 for the half marathon and €30 for the 10K.

The Benidorm Half has experienced significant growth since its organisation was taken over by Tour-Sport Promociones Deportivas, with the support of Benidorm City Council. In the most recent edition, held in November 2025, participation reached a record 9,132 runners, comfortably surpassing the previous high of 6,500 set in 2024. The objective for the 2026 race is to significantly exceed that figure.

Another particularly noteworthy statistic highlights the international appeal of the Benidorm Half. Of the total 9,132 registered runners, 4,616 participants (50.5%) were international athletes. Remarkably, 4,043 runners were from the United Kingdom.

They were joined by athletes from countries such as Ireland (108), Norway (74), Belgium (72), the Netherlands (72), Poland (42), Italy (38), Germany (23), France (22), Sweden (18), among many others.

Looking at Spanish participation in detail, of the 4,516 domestic runners, 1,934 came from the province of Alicante (42% of the Spanish total), while the remaining 2,582 athletes travelled from 46 other provinces. The top five Spanish provinces were led by Alicante, followed by Valencia (704), Madrid (463), Albacete (424) and Murcia (184).

Registration is now open for the next challenge of this iconic race, and with it begins the search for the athletes who will succeed the 2025 champions: Ben Connor, winner of the half marathon in a course-record time of 1:03:51, and Lily Partridge, who claimed victory in the women’s race with a time of 1:12:07. In the 10K event, Harry Johnson took the men’s title with a time of 30:38, while Alondra Yairet Negrón Teixidor won the women’s race in 33:13, setting both a new women’s event record and a national record for Puerto Rico.

The 2025 Benidorm Half enjoyed a day of celebration with a trio of record-breaking performances across three of its four categories. New all-time course records were set in the men’s and women’s Half Marathon, as well as in the women’s 10K. The event was already shaping up to be historic, having registered a record-breaking 9,132 participants—a milestone highly praised by the organiser, Tour-Sport Promociones Deportivas.

The honours board for the 2025 Benidorm Half, decided this Saturday across the 21K and 10K distances, featured the following winners: Ben Connor claimed victory in the 21K with a time of 1:03:51, setting a new course record, while Lily Partridge took the women’s title in 1:12:07, also a record. In the 10K race, Harry Johnson stopped the clock at 30:38, while Alondra Yairet Negrón Teixidor won the women’s race in 33:13, breaking both the event’s women’s record and the Puerto Rican national record for the distance.

In the Half Marathon, Britain’s Ben Connor sealed the men’s title with 1:03:51, breaking the previous record held by Luis Agustín Escriche (1:07:23 in 2024). Alejandro González (Serrano Atletismo) finished second in 1:04:21, while Latvian athlete Dmitrijs Serjogins (C.A. La Sansi) placed third in 1:05:11.

In the women’s 21K, the previous record belonged to Laura Méndez (Olympian in the Tokyo 2020 Marathon), who ran 1:16:35 in 2024. That mark was comfortably surpassed in 2025 by Lily Partridge, whose 1:12:07 represented a significant improvement. Geles Gimeno secured second place with 1:19:45, while María José de Toro (Atletismo C.P. La Roda) completed the podium in 1:20:47.

In the 10K, Harry Johnson (Salford Harriers) won the men’s race in 30:38; last year he had also raced in Benidorm, finishing second with 30:34. In 2025, Javier Mirón (Team New Balance) claimed the second step of the podium with 31:11, while Pablo Otero (Atletismo Narón) placed third in 31:18.

In the women’s category, victory went to Alondra Yairet Negrón Teixidor (Joma-Sport), who ran 33:13, breaking both the Puerto Rican national record and the Benidorm event record (previously 34:00 by María Fuentes in 2024). The defending champion, María Fuentes Olcina, crossed the line second in 33:55, improving her own performance from the previous edition. Mónica Pascual (CA Benidorm) finished third with 34:48.

“I didn’t expect to break this record here. I came to run the best race possible before heading to a training camp in Kenya to prepare to break the national record in Valencia. I’m thrilled to have managed it here as well as to win the race. I’m shocked. I’ll be back next year,” said the 10K champion.

The course is officially certified for both distances, and the event features on the national calendar of the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA). The event’s growth goes even further, with internationalisation rising year after year. The 2025 Benidorm Half brought together participants from 37 countries. According to the economic impact study conducted by the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences of the University of Valencia for the 2024 edition, the average number of companions per runner was 2.6. Applying this to the 7,198 runners who travelled from outside Alicante in 2025, they were joined by 18,714.8 companions, adding up to a total of 25,912.8 visitors.

In terms of distance distribution, 49.2% ran the Half Marathon and 50.8% the 10K. By gender, participation was 58.7% men and 41.3% women. In the 10K, the split was almost even: 50.3% men and 49.7% women. In the 21K, the proportions were 67.8% men and 32.2% women.

The Benidorm Half 2025 is set to smash its all-time participation record, with more than 9,000 runners confirmed for the night race taking place on Saturday, 22 November. This represents an increase of over 2,500 participants compared to the 2024 edition, which had already marked a historic high. With these figures, the Benidorm Half becomes the largest running event in the province of Alicante.

Beyond participation growth, the event stands out for its strong tourism impact and contribution to the city’s economy. Of the total registered runners, 2,000 are from the province of Alicante, while 7,000 will travel from across Spain and a range of international locations, generating significant tourism revenue for Benidorm. Overall, 48.7% of participants are Spanish and 51.3% are international.

“We are extremely pleased with the growth the race has experienced year after year. It is the result of putting the runner at the centre and ensuring they always enjoy an exceptional experience,” explains Fernando Brotons, Race Director and CEO of Tour-Sport Promociones Deportivas, the company responsible for organising the Benidorm Half.

According to an economic impact study conducted by the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences at the University of Valencia following the 2024 edition, runners were accompanied by an average of 2.6 guests. Applying this data to the 7,000 participants travelling from outside Alicante in 2025, organisers expect approximately 18,200 accompanying visitors, bringing the total to 25,200 visitors. “This confirms one of the objectives set when we were entrusted with organising the event: to generate tourism revenue for Benidorm through running.
